My 7020 seems to be making a bit of a 'huffing' noise. It almost sounds like an exhaust manifold leak, but I can see a leak there. I was wondering if it is the injector sleeve(s) as I see some weepage around the rubber dust gaskets of the injectors, and I don't think it is oil as I replaced the cover gasket a couple of years ago. Just thought I would get some opinions before I go any further. It seems harder to start, too, which is making me think of lost compression. Thanks!

Check your radiator for bubbles. Just went through this with my 7000 (ended up rebuilding the whole engine while I had it apart). Sounds like it's the o rings around the injector sleeves. To replace, you need the special tools (only work on a 2900/649 and 433 engines) and a new sleeve. The AGCO sleeve is something like $70, so I would try hy-capacity, as they show it in their catalog. I can't imagine it being that high per a copper sleeve. Head has to be pulled to do this. Do you have any antifreeze in the oil? Can you do an oil analysis to see if you're burning antifreeze?

Hurst, I wondered if there was a pinhole in the head gasket. I haven't checked for bubbles, but the rad does go down a bit, and sometimes when you stop, coolant will run out of the overflow for a bit. This doesn't happen if the rad is down a bit, though. I don't think there is coolant in the oil, as the oil looks fine, no 'milk' at all.

Do you use the tractor very often? If you have a week or two you can wait, run an oil sample on the tractor after shutting it down. If you are losing coolant, it sounds like the head needs to be pulled and pressure tested. Also, mine didn't show milky oil, but I did have water at the drain plug if I loosened it to the point something came out. Might be worth a try. The oil analysis results will show if you are getting coolant into the cylinder while running (ie, all the coolant is being burned off, so there's no water in the oil, as this leaves high amounts of sodium and potassium (I think those are the right elements).
