We plow a few acres each year just so we dont forget how to do it. The D-19 has become a favorite. We picked up this Snap-Coupler semimounted 4 bottom from Brad (MI) and tore up a few acres with it last spring. This is the plow that we need the gauge wheel assembly. The '19 dont look like much but we have the mechanics all fixed including fresh overhaul, love that narrow front look on it.
Here playing with 4-16 in the high side of 2nd

Looks good.Love to see the old orange machines at work. When I was younger I spent many hours on a D-19 pulling a 4 bottom A/C plow.Hated it then, would give anything to do it again.Funny how things you did not like to do(when you had to do them)seem almost fun now.I spent my childhood until I was 16 on a family dairy farm.Spending time playing on A/C equiptment makes me feel young again.
Thanks for posting Pics.Butch, keep up the good work. |

When I was still on the farm we had a golden lab/retriever mix. She would follow Dad all day when he was plowing. At first we thought she was just his shadow, but we soon realized she was snatching up all the meadow moles that he disturbed. By the end of the day, her belly was practically dragging. What a great dog. I miss her.

Glenn, Ole dog was purdy tired affter just a few rounds. We cant let him run during the day and thus he is chain fat and out of shape. Our old farm dawg could follow you all day and keep up with the D-15 ( but not the Farmalls) in road gear going home.
He did eat a few rodents of somekind, must be like energy bars, LOL

Butch, Great looking D-19 - never sold one - but it looks like a very good plowing unit.
You know, I can never get over that rich black earth you have. Best I could do in Baltimore County, Maryland is generally red clay rocky soil. We have some well fertilized areas with this type of soil but nothing like the quality of your soil.
Good Luck!
Bill Long
ps: Like your dog too
