Welcome!  Lots of folks on here with lots of knowledge - 'cept for me!  LOL.

Man, you have a fantastic AC toy display and memorablia.  Much nicer than mine.

I have had a 620 for quite a few years, and really like it.  Was finally able to afford a somewhat ratty snowblower this fall, so finally added a mini alternator, as my system had not been working for a few years.  Happens with these nearly 50 year old tractors.

How long have you had your 720?

Hi

Just thought I would introduce myself! My name is Jason Bengough and I live in Hensall Ontario Canada. I am a collector of Allis Chalmers and Gleaner combine toys, brochures etc. Although I do have John Deere stuff as well, I really love my AC and Gleaner stuff. Our local dealership is Hyde Brothers Farm Equipment, who are still in business today as a Kubota/ Massey Ferguson/ Versatile/ Gleaner dealer. They turned 75 years in business not long ago and still under 3rd or 4 generation of ownership. They were originally an Allis Chalmers/Gleaner dealership when they first started. Their old store was located only a block down the street from where I grew up, while I was not born when they were an AC dealer, my dad remembers it really well, that's what got me hooked into Allis Chalmers and Gleaner. I started collecting the Gleaner brand first and then branched out into the Orange tractor line of AC. I also collect New Idea stuff with dad as his dad and my Grandpa had the local New Idea dealer back in the 1950's to the late 60's.

The 720 AC Garden tractor pictured is mine, it's a 1977 and came out of Indiana back in 2009. I have the 60 inch mower deck for it, but took the deck off of it. It's pretty much original, and still has the Onan 19.5HP engine in it. Hope to restore it someday maybe.

Looking forward to talking AC and Gleaner with you all.

Thank you!

I have had my AC 720 since around 2009, it still runs although I have not ran it this past year at all. Problems with the generator on it and not keeping the charge properly, even though the battery not that old. Need to put 2 new rear tires on it, hopefully sooner then later. Don't have much time to work on her much lately, but she sits inside a shed out of the snow and rain. My AC 720 is a 1977, came out of Kokomo Indiana. Id like to get a 620 to go with it someday, or at least another one for dad to drive in parades.
What year's your 620?

Jason: My 620 I believe is a 1974.
A magnet came loose from the flywheel on mine, and chewed up the stator, as well as part of the governor cover. Bought what I was told was a "good" used stator and flywheel a number of years ago and installed, but it wasn't, so put up with the failure to charge situation for quite a few years until this fall.  A fellow member on this site built me a stub shaft/pulley to add onto the front of the crankshaft.  It does not interfere with the front clutch this way.  I now run a mini alternator, and it is WONDERFUL to have a working charging system.  If you get to the point you use it enough to want to make the move to the mini alternator route, there is info in the Garden Tractor side of this forum, as well as extensive info on the Simpletractors website.  All my purchases to make this move to the mini alternator were much less than what I paid for my used flywheel and stator.

Welcome to forum. Nice toy collection. It seems that's how most get into the hobby, growing up near a dealership or with story's of AC

Yes, very impressive for sure, the dealer turned 75 years old and is still an independent dealership that has not merged or been bought out by another AGCO dealership. On it's 3rd or 4th generation of ownership as well now. I believe it's one of the few independent original AC dealers left up here. Although there is a couple more I believe still going.

Thanks for the welcome! Great site.

Welcome Jason. I drove through Hensall yesterday. Our company built the last 24 silos at HDC.  Hyde's are on third generation ownership. I'm just northeast of Stratford and also grew up surrounded by orange.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

Welcome from the Very North West corner of Ohio.
If you have a toy Gleaner combine that need the orange table auger I have a few hundred.
I am not sure they fit all the combines. I made parts for a parts dealer years back and I run across some that were never picked up when hunting in the warehouse. I see a box of orange gears and stuff also. I think I saw some green toy stuff also but not sure what it is for anymore.  You can get one what you need for the asking.

Steve and Ryan are great parts people at Hyde's for getting things ordered and in on time. Always had good luck getting parts from Hyde's when I was still running my AGCO Allis mowers for my lawn business. Never had any problems with the AGCO Parts. Disappointed though about Simplicity dropping the Diesel Legacy, Id love to own and run one, but it's a shame what Briggs & Stratton have done to Simplicity in my opinion. Great product, but parts are being coming a problem( Simplicity's problem not Hyde's). Love the way the Simplicity mowers cut though, my 95 AGCO Allis 1914H will cut as great as my 2011 Walker mower that all the professional's use. Been really happy with my Deere mowers 99% of the time, although their Battery's are Junk. Only made it 3 years on a Deere battery, vs. 7 or 8 years that the old AGCO battery's would do. Trying to avoid using Deere's battery's if possible now. Maybe Il get a Simplicity Legacy XL someday who knows.

Bought most of my Toy Gleaner stuff from Hyde's, usually from Ryan who is pretty good with keeping up on the stuff. Dealt with Bill Workman when I was running the AGCO mowers full time, great guy to deal with, they pretty much all are out at Hyde's.

Thanks! In my short time here already, I have learned quite a bit of new stuff about Allis Chalmers from some great members on here. Nice to see a site dedicated to the Orange line of tractors, AC to me will always be the #1 Orange Tractor. Kubota is a nice brand, but I just love the styling and innovations that AC brought to the market. Glad to be on here.
