Can I take the engine out of a D 17 and stick into a WD.  The engine is the only thing that is good in the 17.

To add to Mack's list, the water pump will need to be drilled out to 7/16" or install three 7/16" X 3/8" studs for mounting it, you need to find air governor housing (so you can put oil in the engine without needing to remove the hood to fill through the valve cover cap) cleaner, hose off a WD45 gas tractor, drill the crankshaft pulley out to fit the crank, re-plumb the oil filter lines to clear the steering shaft, might need to grind a little off the timing cover or frame rail on the right side to clear. Reuse the WD flywheel and clutch assy back in tractor. You might need to re-shim the front engine mount to angle cross mount.
3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep.
