I just saved this old hay hiker from the scrappers torch. Paid $25 for it (actually bought it after the auction from the scrapper). Does anyone know what brand of hiker it is? The previous owner painted it orange with a paint brush it looks. He did have a bunch of Allis equipment. I can't imagine that I found an Allis flightline elevator, but I can always wish.
Thanks Adam ![]() ![]() |

There were Allis Chalmers Hay/Grain elevators. I don't know for sure if they were actually built by Allis Chalmers or rebadged
units from another manufacturer. Without getting a good close-up look I can't answer the question of lineage of what you have.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Could be an AC. Also could be a McCurdy, Little Giant, Mayrath, New Idea, Kewanee...Just to name a few.

After looking at my books it is definitely not an Allis model. The frame is set up different on an Allis vs this one. Glanced through some pictures and it appears very similar to a McCurdy as mentioned.

that's a "stanhoist" brand elevator. I have one just like it. they are good eleavators. and when yer done using it, make good charcoal grills after cutting it into sections. that elevator would really take ear corn away from a wagon FAST!

They make a nice firewood stacker as well. I had my splitter setting at the bottom of one, and just dumped the wood on it. Sure made life a lot easier!

yep John, we've used ours for ear corn, small grains, small bales of hay, and firewood too! saves a lot of bending over to pile or load it!

We took the running gear out from under a JD and set it on cribbing, filled it with dirt. She uses it for a raised garden bed. If I find a couple more, will do the same thing to them.
