I was clipping pastures this afternoon with my 7010 until I started to smell fuel. Sure enough, there was a generous drop/stream coming from the fuel pump while running. I got it home and cleaned things off to see what was going on. I am no fuel pump mechanic. It is a roosa master pump and it had a steady drip from the very bottom orifice and a slower seep from a small hole with a square head screw on the side. Do I need to have a mechanic take it off and work it over or could it just be bad seals? The tractor still runs fine. Any help would be appreciated. I don't think there has ever been any fuel pump or injector work done and now has over 8000 hours.
Thanks....

most likely all the seals, and o-rings are hard and dried out. we have seen an increase in this since more are using bio-diesel, and ultra-low sulfer diesel. the DM pumps aren't terribly expensive to re-build, usually 600-700 through our shop. good thing is they dont have a flex ring to go bad, and have to put in an EID weight retainer which is over 50 bucks. good luck, Ed.

Thanks Ed. I figured it was more than I could do with a screw driver and pair of pliers!
