So. Was milking monday with lester the milk tester and was telling about the all crop attachments i bought this weekend and how was having trouble figuring out exactly what i bought.
He stopped by at milking tonite with an original parts manual for all the attachments allis made for the 60,60a and the 66 all crop combines. 196 pages!! And they made all kinds of attachments that i had never heard of: high lift headers, flax roll attachments, peanut attachments , straw loader ect,ect . I know that they could combine just about anything so it makes sense they would need a little help but wow! That was one busy engineering department. And i am blessed to have generous friends, even if he likes farmall tractors and ayrshire cows. |

I got a few different printings of the 60 manuals with a combine I saved from going to scrap. There are definitely attachments in there I have never seen and probably never will. Always thought the straw windrower attachment was neat. I have seen one before (maybe at the Hutchinson MN show?).
I wonder if the high lift header would be good for sunflowers? Might even be helpful for milo.

This AC video shows a few of the attachments, if you haven't found it already. |

Congrars Doc you must have been a good boy this year. I rode and bagged oats for years on these combines. They are truly amazing machines. I only did oats and wheat. With scour-clean! I sold our bagger combine for $100. Bought neighbors 72 (i think) combine with PO #2 and cream and fat tires and auger and bin and I was king of the hill. Machine was incredible. The old bagger had canvas drapes and we ran it with a 49 WD. The 72 I ran with the D17 and later with the 180. Never have had an itchier job!😷

Yeah, he is a good friend. Always at christmas there is a neat old Guernsey milk bottle or something else cool. Last year he found the offical Guernsey member handbook from 1948.
I have a 66 combine, captain. I actually bought it from one of our old cornell professors |

Buddy of mine just brought home another 66, this thing is in fantastic shape. Really wish pictures were easier to post here, I'd have taken a bunch. The decals on this thing are incredible. Not sure what his ultimate plan is for this one, donating it to Hutch possibly?

I like Ayrshire cows too, but my first family cow was a Guernsey. She fed 2 and 3 calves and us. She was 23 and paid most of the Fall fertilizer bill when she left...Harvey

Harvey, you must have been amazing cow man. 23 out of a guernsey cow! My thought has always been if they can make 200,000 pounds lifetime. They get to 'retirement ". Spend the last of years of their lifes on the office pasture. No one is sticking a fork in their gravy.
