I have a 38 B that gets stuck in two gears when shifting from 1st to reverse or vise versa and is a pain because you just have to platy with it until it comes unstuck so you can move again. It seems like it does it mostly going from 1st to reverse.

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas,
Denis

Denis,  The B has a very reliable transmission.  That said 62 years of work is a lot for a tractor transmission.  If it is getting stuck in two gears I would consider removing the shifter arrangements.  Could be a problem there.  Perhaps new forks or detent balls, rods, or springs needed.  If I recall one can start by draining the oil and removing the shifter plate on the LH side of the transmission - facing front.  That should expose the problem and you could go from there.  Hopefully, the problem could be in the shifter arrangement.
Let us know how it goes.
Good Luck!
