With a potential hectic fire season upcoming we've finally got our grader in action. Not without some last minute problems, like the fuel tank we thought was clean gumming up the filters. So it is getting a CAV filter/watertrap as well. And we'll have to work out how to remake the control shaft brake linings.
But it will turn dirt.
I'll do some more posts on things I've learned - like the current bearings for the steering main shaft - this is already at MinnPar.
And an only-in-Australia reason for this project.
One of our boys was home and a kangaroo exploded out of the grass along a fenceline, put his motorbike into the fence and nearly cut his throat on a barb wire.
About then we decided we needed a grader - but economics said it would have to come from ground up, not from new paint down.
