Has anybody found a source of galvanized rear rims or had rims galvanized? Not sure if I want to invest into that but would like to look into it.

Try Moore Galvanizing in Modesto CA that's who I use. Took the rims in for my 48 G along with a bunch of other old car parts. Bill was about 200 dollars.

What type of prep is required to get a rim galvanized? Do they need to be supplied bare metal, or do they "dip" them in some sort of "bath" that strips paint etc... off of them? Just wondering for future reference.
I was talking with a college buddy (sometimes lurks here) about this recently. He was saying there is a place by him (Green Bay WI) that galvanizes things. I'll have to ask him again about it.

I have looked into power coating for somethings. In the end for the cost and use this tractor will get I prefer standard paint. If it takes a scratch or two so be it. as for the rims, I was thinking for the work I'm going through, It is one more peice of authentisity I can add. I'm sure if I go that route I'll have to buy the rims at that time due to the pitting in the original rims. I'll cross that bridge at that time. I was having trouble finding places that would dip something of that size. Sounds like there are lots of options here.
It may depend on the amount I can raise for my tractor fund. Not sure if my wife would be happy if I bought new rims before I build our kitchen cabinets lol
