Guy found it in a basement...and had it listed for sale. I went and got it a week before college started last year.

I like collecting this stuff as much as I do toys. I have tons of literature and anything else I can get my hands on. Got real lucky this summer at a local farm auction of an old guys that had all allis tractors. Went thru his shed and found some neat stuff and bargained with the guys that bought those lots and came home with everything. It looks great displayed with my toys.

Don I bought an IB from a fellow a few years ago....he called me later and said he had an AC oil can that he found out in the shop. A few days later I found it sitting in front of my barn. Still about half full of grease. This is big crawler country around here, probably a few more settin in sheds out in the sticks....

A few years ago, we took a tour of the USS Alabama battleship.  Every corner you turned, had a tag with Allis Chalmers on it. There was components all over that ship that they made.  Dave.

We have a Vilter-Corliss on permanent display at our local show which ran the refrigeration unit at the old Hauenstein Brewery in New Ulm, MN. I will try to find a picture of it, not Allis but an early ancestor.

If I can ever get them, I have pictures of some Allis equipment I have worked on in the past. The high volume "Couch" drainage ditch pumps Allis owned for  some time and a 6 inch flanged  coolant pump for a diesel generator engine. The coolant pump was at least 40 years old and the maintenance guys didn't like to tighten the packing in the seal every couple years so they had me bore it out and put in a standard rubber lip seal.
