Need to adjust my wide front out, but my tie rods are stuck. Took them off the tractor used heat and a bfh but can't get them to come apart. Anyone have any tricks to getting them apart? Or what are you guys using as replacement tie rods? Thanks!

New tie rods are available on the aftermarket.  Lots of heat and oil is needed to loosen up seized tie rods.

Put penetrating oil on and let soak next use hammer (about one lb)and beat all over . The light beating will make the metal stretch and loosen up .It will take patance. It worked on my B and I had tied it to a tree and pulled it with D14.

Yes lots of PB blaster, heat and I used a pipe wrench to get it to budge (turn) once it moves you got it! Then grind off all the marks and re assemble with some never seize on the stem.

Got one to make a full turn, but it's still stuck! Got them soaking for now.

50/50 mix of aceatone and ATF, soaked the wide front spindle tubes on a IH 560 with it for a day, came right apart. Or buy a new set lol.

when you get them apart and cleaned up, put NEAVER-SEZE on them before you put them back together.

Now that you mention it I think I had to use a 2 lb sledge at some point to get it to move out. Just try not to destroy the part your whacking on. I may have beat on the end that is under the tractor just in case the damage was going to be more apparent:)
Yea these are a bugger. I was to cheap to buy an new set. In  fact one was bent and I straightened it too. I think I even shortened the stems a little bit (couple inches).

 Chris

Had them soaking, still stuck.  I'm thinking about just replacing them but everything I find needs the holes reamed out with a 7 degree taper.  Are there any available that will fit with out modification?
