Check for power at the clutch if no power there look in the console for a blown fuse or a bad wire between them.

To start the separator, start the engine. Pull throttle to low idle and flip the switch on the right that has a picture of combine with straw walkers on it. Separator should engage. I believe the pedal on the right is the right turning brake, but I'm not 100% sure, I've never used mine LOL!

Thank you for the reply I'm going to have to probably go through the electrical system on the combine I still can't get the straw walkers or separator to run. Where are the solenoids that would control that function and does anybody happen to have a wiring diagram?

Make sure you don't have bad fuse. Another thing that goes bad is what the parts book calls a brush holder,on the end of main shaft screws into shaft and has wires coming out to plug into harness. It sends juice to make magnet pull the clutch together.

with the engine off, have someone stand next to the seperator clutch, and then turn on the switch and try to engage the seperator clutch. It should "clunk" if not, check fuse and connection at the electric clutch. Could easily be a bad ground or unhooked or broken wire. Start simple and go from there

The best course of action is to hit ebay and buy an orginal operators manual. It will answer many of your questions.
Make sure to get your serial number and buy the right manual, there are many changes from a 73 to a 76. There are some pretty good electrical diagrams in the operators manual that can help you out. I can tell you what year you have and what book you need if that would help you out. All I need is the SN. A quick search on ebay netted a ton of results, and I found 3 right off around 20 bucks. Good luck! |

It could also be the holding clips for the fuse. One side of the rivets was lose and would get hot and blow the fuse on my L. I just put an inline fuse in to solve that problem. Just another idea. Good luck
