Is there a locally available substitute for 3MEC-847 cement that is listed to be used on the rear mail oil seal (D17 series I)? The manual lists a part number (921164) but I don't know what this stuff is? Can I get something at NAPA that will work?

Bob - I believe it's the same as weatherstrip cement. Don't quote me but someone may come on with the correct glue. - AL

Am I correct in assuming you are referring to automotive weatherstrip adhesive and not household weatherstrip?

The weatherstrip cement is the automotive type. Is usually yellow to dark tan in color. Sticky stuff , sort of like snot.
