#1 son just got acceptance letter to University of Tulsa. He is going for Deaf Education. There are only 2 colleges in Oklahoma that offer the degree, and the other was a little "liberal" for his belief structure.
Can't explain how proud I am of him. Very self-driven and has become quite a man.

That's great. I kinow how you feel. I was disappointed that not one of the sons wanted to take over family business, but they went to college and are now doing their own thing and all is well. Tell your son congrats.

I was hit by empty nest syndrome pretty hard. Hope it doesn't bother you to much.

Les, I think it will take more than one leaving to empty out Jim's nest.

I guess the reason it bothered me so much is because I only had two (by choice) and they were twins. They left the same day for college. Went from chaotic to motionless the same day. Still wish they were only 5 and we were playing ball again. I make a point to tell all the younguns with children to enjoy them while you can, cause they grow up fast!

Thanks, Shameless. I feel so much better now. Smile

Congratulations to the Young man Jim. Not only has he grown up since I met him in 2004 but he has a good head on his shoulders and a very selfless choice of career occupations. Working with the deaf is truly an indication of just how well you and Christina are raising your children. God Bless.

CONGRATS Jim!  Seems he might of turned out better than his Dad.  Isn't that the way it's supposed to be!?  Sounds like he is something TO BE proud of!

Wife & I have 4 kids that are all gone from home. They seem to leave quicker than they came :(
It's funny you brought up this topic. Just last night, I texted all 4 & wife a past storybook riddle. I tried their memories of their childhood years. I gave them hints of their favorite story "Big Pigs Hat." We had another good laugh about those good old times. Les - congrats on twins!
