Some of you might remember from last December/January i was needing some help as far as building our WD45 for my senior project to pass high school. Well i never did get back on here and for the lack of better words "show it off." We had a lot of screw ups thats for sure, but learned a lot while we were doing it. Tractor was torn completely down to nothing. Everything separated. We had an empty rear end setting on blocks and that was it. Came from all the way down to back up to a complete machine in about three months. Marty Nelson sent us a 298ci short block assembly at first, then a head. We put a diesel ring and pinion in it for div2 pulling with our 38's. Dad and I got it running in time to present in May so i could graduate. We have had a lot of success this summer running 3.5 and 4mph. We hafta fix a pesky oil pan leak, which we have just gave up on for this summer, will address the issue this winter(Hints the gas can hanging from the bellhousing). This was in the 4000 5mph early this summer. http://youtu.be/2vW5H0duHPs |

Thank you Bryan. I couldnt figure out how to get the video to show up in the message or it would have been a lot easier to view.

I can't say if this helps or not. But I used a big block chevy oil pan stud kit on my wc engine. I did trim the rear cork seal. I does leak some. I figured from me trimming it. But if your taking the pan off anyway. You use all but a couple of the studs in the kit. Not bad for $20.

Im curious comsidering we haven't had much luck. Tried 4 times. Trimmed them once, but not the rest of the time. 2 of the 4 times we had the front and the back leaking. Lol

![]() As far as the pan leaking, watch Jim D's video of Don(MO) installing a pan gasket on a 226. It will take care of your leak
