A neighbour rebuilt a D-19 Diesel. One supplier said the head gasket was the same for gas or diesel with a .030. fire ring. Another supplier said the the .030 was for gas and .060 was needed for the diesel. Should be the same for a D-17 diesel. Sleeve standout is very important. Should be  + .0020 to +.0040 not -.0020 to + .0020 as stated in the specs.

Calvin means .002 and .004 I think
20-40 thousnadths is a heck of a liner standout.......
should be 2-4 thousandths

I ended up between the .002 to .004 above on mine. Don't forget that you need a couple special bolts to use as dowels. There are no dowel pins to locate the head and gasket from the factory. I had a couple bolts built up and turned down to fit the holes in the head to locate both the gasket and head.
