How many plows will a CA pull? Also, what do you all think is best? A wide front or narrow front on a CA (for cultivating)? I'd assume the narrow front, but havent had much experience with a CA.

I have only ever seen one plow on a CA at a time, and it was usually a two furrow plow. Gary

The CA was sold as a 2 plow tractor. 2-14's in most ground although Dennis on here has shown it will pull 3-14's in his ground.
I think the narrow front would be much easier if you are going to plow and cultivate. You never have to adjust the front wheel spacing and cultivating 2 rows at a time makes for a pretty sharp turn on the ends which I believe would be easier with the narrow front.
Some seem to think the wide front is a big advantage when working hillsides but the front pivots and does very little to stabilize the tractor on a side hill till the front axle hits the stop. By then, you are tipping too far to be safe with any tractor.

A good condition CA will handle a 2X14 plow nicely in most soils. Weights on rear tires (wheel weights or fluid in tires) are a real plus to minimize spinning...and front weights are a plus in keeping the front tires on the ground when lifting the plow. The narrow front turns tighter; the wide front is more stable on slopes
