My starter just spins without making contact. When i had the starter out, it looked liked it was not extending all the way. Is this common problem?

Not necessarily a common problem but it happens with starters of all makes. Does the starter motor seem to be turning up to full speed? If yes then the problem is probably in the starter drive. Might be time for a trip to the startern/generator shop.

The Bendix may just be stuck. Had that happen on my D14. Just pull the motor and check it. Bob |

Is your battery a 6 volt or 12 volt?
