I love the smell of a cold diesel in the winter! But you cant have any ether in the mix, that just ruins the smell!

Yep - have to agree.  Some smells just do it for me -  Gas, Diesel, Nitro, Cordite.

Hey Jeff, Did they find you?  Jeff:  Did who find me? The squirals, they heard you were nuts. I don't sniff gas anymore, not since I fell off my motorcyle. I'm clean from now on. LOL

Yeah the smell of my D19D actually seems to have a sweet smell unlike any other diesel vehicle. I'm sure it has something to do with all the unburnt diesel. Even the smell from the cummins in my truck doesnt compare.

I like the sound of my 7060, as far as smells NOTHING beats the two stroke smoke from my Polaris sleds (hope to have 4 strokes someday for the environmental benefits). Even the two stroke smoke from my saw makes me think of riding my sled.

Yes I did like the smell of leaded gas better that non-leaded. I also liked the smell of the exhaust better from the old diesels than the new ones.

G96 gun oil, Cam2 racing fuel, Diesel, gear oil, Nitro, gun powder, Pyrodex, it is all good. I asked the wife one time if she would wear some G96 gun oil behind her ears. When I woke up I had a really bad headache and my ears were ringing.

There's a big difference in exhaust smells between my Case VAC gasoline and my D-14 LPG. I guess I prefer the LPG exhaust "bouquet".

Nothing better than the exhaust smell from a B61 Mack especially when it is idling or standing on top of a galosine tanker waiting for the tank to drain dry and the exhaust is floating back over the tank.  Many years ago, but can still smell it.  Yes, we are nuts.

Wow,soilguy most people including me dont much care for burnt LP. hhhmmm! I might add the fragrence of Marvels Mystery oil to the list. When I smell a certain diesel odor, it reminds me of football practice in high school. After practice, and our showers when we would come out of the athletic rooms, the city power plant was just starting the big generators for the night power load and the exhaust would be cold at first. To this day, when I get that smell it reminds me of a fun time, instantly!

When I smell diesel, I think of Burger King.

I guess I have to say I don't like gasoline exhaust at all. Both my gas tractors (oliver 60 & CA) have about 40% diesel in them. (Free fuel when someone filled his diesel truck with gas and it died here) The diesel does seem to make the exhaust not smell as obnoxious to me. Then theres the D17D. There just isn't anything that sounds or smells quite like it. Like Dipstick says, the smells and sound brings back memories...
Old diesel smells good, the new stuff with a catalyst stinks!
