looks like, L2, R72, S77, A86. I do question why you went to an aftermarket hopper on the A series.did you actually gain any capacity? Not many have run the new S against the A . How does it compare?

Its an L3 ,R72 ,S77 and A86. I put the bigtop on the 86 because it doesnt look stupid like the original and it is not as high. The S77 isnt mine. They brought it over for a demo. it had a 40ft agco flex draper. Run it against our A86 with the 40ft Macdon. We run the 2 on 90 acre field in real dry conditions, and the 77 stayed with it and burned 5 or 6 gallon an hour less then the 86. But when we got into some tough conditions it would'nt stay up, but I didnt expect it too.Its a class smaller, but alot more then an R76. IG Edited by ILGLEANER - 03 Nov 2011 at 10:07pm |

We have run the Macdon for 4 years now. Love it. The Agco flexdraper did a nice job in the field when it was dry ,but so would have the L3 with a 320. The conditions were perfect.beans real dry ,as was the ground and hot with the wind blowing. Later on that day we went down in the bottoms in some tough conditions. That is where the Macdon would shine, you can cut around the clock with it. The flex draper wanted to start draging up like a typical flex head. I would put the agco draper somewhere between an auger head and the macdon. alot better then an auger head but not near a macdon. On the same subject the Deere dealership had a flex draper of there s running around this fall. I didnt run it,but the green guys werent impressed at all.

Nice pics. John ,Thanks for posting. Nice looking beans. Was wondering how your double cropped beans did? My brother said theirs did 28/ acre and they were happy with that as no rain to speak of after the 4th of july.

I like the Versatile. They seem to be coming back here pretty good in North Dakota. There are a lot of them out there in the field.

So the talk about getting a different brand tractor was for a Versatile? Love to see some tillage picks with it.
I'm interested in learning about the draper heads too. I think MacDon has a pretty good head too. B. |

WOW!!! The size of the machinery today. To a tractor salesman who sold a 52 HP tractor - tops!! - and a 90" combine with THREE ROW HEADERS!!! This is just too much.
Outstanding equipment.
Thanks for sharing.
Good Luck!
