    Posted: 11 Oct 2011 at 9:50am
How do I check to see if the Pacer monitor pads are working right? Will taking a handful of corn and pouring on the pads tell me enough or is there a better way? Had the shaker bushings go bad for some reason (they looked to be new when I bought this combine last year) and shook one sensor pad enough to lose the plastic fingers.

Be sure to check the timing on the shoe ecentrics.....that is to say,be sure there's not a sheared key or twisted shaft.I'll bet you know that already.

Thanks. Everything seems in time. I'm hoping the bushings were installed wrong meaning that the shoe wasn't at it's mid point when the bushings were put in. I only had 3 rounds left of beans when I discovered what was happening. One thing with the old E was that you could hear everything going on while the L2 is very quiet comparably.

I think you can test them by having someone tap them with a pen or pencil and watch the needle in the cab.

the pads for the pacer monitors are really just microphones. have someone watch the monitor in the cab while you tap on the pads. set the monitor to most sensitivety so light tapping will show.
