Hey guys I thought I would let you know we got another new addition to the Allis family yesterday. I purchased an Allis Chalmers "IB" from grandma and I was wondering if anyone could give me some more information about them. I have heard they were used sometimes to move empty rail cars around. I remember as a young kid dad mowing with it but my knowledge of them is very little. Any information would be appreiated. Thanks Blake

There probably isn't much they haven't been used for with all the attatchments they put on the front rear or sides.

IB's were a tractor we loved to sell.  Since they were industrial we could not sell them since we were agricultural.  However, we had a "friendly" industrial dealer who obtained them for us.  They were an ideal unit for golf courses - pulling reel type mowers - county uses - maintaining and mowing roads.  They could be purchased in various colors since the counties wanted them to match their other machinery.

We sincerely enjoyed having the IB's around. Neat tractor. We did not get that many but we sold whatever we could coax out of our "friendly" industrial dealer. You will have a ball with the IB. They did just about everything. Good Luck! Bill Long |
