our 200 started slipping on the high side. it's been working fine and started slipping suddenly. what can i check externally to get it working. we really don't have time to split the tractor right now.  thanks

My brothers 200 slips on the low side and has for years.  If he needs to run on the low side he puts a penny between the lever and the metal teet that seperates low and high. Might work for you.  His is just worn linkage evidently.  Jim

If it started all if a sudden it most likely has some broken plates. Check the linkage for worn bushings and shaft. Adjust linkage to go further into hi.   MACK

Does your 200 have the upgrade to reposition the hole in the the bellcrank and add springs to the linkage? This improves engagement of the valve.

Just this past winter we redid dads 200. The linkage for the hand clutch was worn and one of the bushings on the crossshaft under console was worn, the gate that holds the lever and the lever itself were worn. I welded up the lever and gate, made a new bushing for the ball and socket bushing and built up the crossshaft. It's amazing how much play was removed from all the linkage. I don't know how much farther the valve travels but it engages the clutch sooner in the gate than it used to. Good luck.
