Tried out for the first time my new to me 2000 monoframe 4-18's, with 387 bottoms.uploads/24926/IMG_0103.jpeg This is going to be my Rantoul plow from now on assuming I can locate a 100 or 200 series tractor to pull it. We sandblasted and painted everything on it last winter.  Having never pulled one, all I can say is this is a really nice plow! Dropped it in the ground in unworked heavy cornstalks and it exceded my expectations. Please ignor the crooked furrow.uploads/24926/IMG_0617_2026-10-25_18-59-20.jpeg

hard to hide a wave in the furrow  we used to drive around on sunday morning to see who could plow straight and who to rub it in at church,  same with a bulge or a crack in the new hay stack

Had mine out Saturday for the inaugural run, worked pretty good once dialed in and shined up. Think the rear coulter needs to move forward a bit, was plugging some.https://youtu.be/vz0oEMcGgKY?si=jiBtYHar_wRzcR8H

Buddy2366, Congratulations on owning a Rembrandt of the AC plow history - a 2000 monobeam. It’s a beautiful plow that doesn’t disappoint. Look how level it is set~good job. Hence it lays the soil evenly from pass to pass. Crooked furrows - no worries. They are only one of humanity’s many humors. Besides, they give us plow nuts something to resolve, or not, as we plow. Any AC 185, 190xt, 200, 7000, 6080 should be proud to pull it.
Thanks for sharing your photos & stories.

Yes I remember the days of riding in the car with my grandparents. They would always mention crooked furrows, bent cornrows, unkept road verges, weedy field corners and pastures. If they could see how thing are done today they'd be aghast. No one seems to care how much the field and road edges grow up in weeds, no one even bothers to plant in the field corners any more, so they are just weed patches. Pastures today are more Red-Root and Johnson Grass than anything else. Yet the so called farmers of today get miffed if they can't have a new pickup every year for themselves, the wife and kids. Some even have helicopters to go joy riding every evening, yet complain about the cost of everything. The first new car my grandparents could get after the war was a 1951 model and they traded in a 1939. After that they only got a new car every 10 years until the 1972 was the last car they had.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Buddy2366, where did you find that plow?  Only curious as it might have come from my dad's store.
If you're going to plow at Rantoul HCOP show, make sure your shares are in good shape and you have plenty of horsepower.  That is tough ground to moldboard plow!

Looked kinda tuff, I have a 3-18 I pull with my 185.  My coulters are the rubber mounted ones, most have fallen apart, the rubber is rotten.  Would like to find others without the rubber.
