Got one yesterday. Thought we were ready. Moved furniture, pulled fridge out, took interior door down. Guys couldn't get the old fridge through the door. I ended up pulling a 3/4" piece of trim off and they got it. Crazy thing is that fridge went through that door 14 years ago. Anyone else have this problem ?Thanks

Did you take the door(s) off the fridge?
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Lars beat me to it...

FWIW  I paid $75 to have new fridge delivered,  1st week of Jan 2000. Wife thought I was nuts, but I said MY money, MY decision. BEST $75 I spent. guys had to remove 2 doors, + the fridge 'french doors' to get it in, after coming up snowy/icy steps and deck.
sometimes it's better to pay the pros !

Oh yeah, the fridge doors came off. I wasn't home 14 years ago. Wife said that they just shoved it through the door. Guys Wed were more cautious I guess? I did tip them $20 each, they earned it.Should also say there was a delivery and take old one fee. Think $50 each. Thanks

Funny side of this issue!  I got a new frig. though the summer.  2 guys brought the new one.  Neither spoke English, one spoke VERY few words of English.  Carried the new one in, no trouble.  Went to pick the old one up to carry out, and at about the same time, both said "Oh S#8T"  there was much more weight to it!  Funny they knew 2 words??  lol

Update. Got another new fridge today. Probably almost a month ago wife said our ice cream wasn't frozen. Bought a freezer thermometer and freezer was 20 degrees. Should be zero or below. Called Lowe's. Total waste of time ! After many long calls to Hisense (manufacture)they sent a tech out. Low on freon but tech couldn't add any without approval. Today we finally got a new fridge. I have to fix the door trim again and also 2 places on the wall. Anyone else feel my pain? Thanks

Glad it was still under warranty. They don’t make appliances to be repairable anymore or to last a long time. Just toss it and get another one. And customer service is becoming nonexistent, you can’t even get someone on the phone without going through a bunch of automated steps and people who don’t have a clue. Sorry you had to go through the trouble of repairing the door again.
Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.

Thanks Hubert. You're so right about the automated steps and you have to do them every single time! Sure hope this fridge will do right and last a long time. I've been painting the door frame this morning
Oh well, could be worse. Freezer temperature is zero degrees.

Daughter and son in law bought a new fridge when they bought a new house a few years back. After a couple years sometimes the water and drinks would be cold sometimes not. Warranty was expired by this time called a local repair man and he said “I think the circuit board is bad”. Son in law didn’t want to chance another service call and the cost of a circuit board on “I think”. He purchased another one same model as the old one…I don’t know why…when the new one arrived it would not cool. Finally got a service tech out on warranty. The compressor power cord wasn’t hooked up. What happened to quality control?

built our house in 1980... Every internal door except the bathroom is 36 inch... Learned my lesson in the 1950s in mom/ dads little house.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Smart move, Steve. All our doors are 30". I did have a 42" put on the front when we replaced it years ago. You'd think 32"would be the minimum for an interior door
Thanks

I had ALL interior Doors set to 3/0 door frames when built, Baths Bedrooms Major Closets, General Openings are 4/0 with No Doors.  Come to find out at Fire brigade School is damn near to impossible for a Firefighter to pass thru a 2/8 or 2/6 doorway with full Bunker and SCBA hanging.  To get a Gurney in and out of a Home requires a 3/0 Door with minimal Corners.  Stairs to Basement, Handrail Is Capped to Wall to keep from snagging SCBA or Bunker Gear, stairs 3/0 width.
