I know about the flex rings. My question is to check for sure. I remember on here talking about how to check, but cannot find it. Thanks. PS I changed filter, cleaned sediment bowls {both} and checked flow.

Loosen the two little screws in the small rectangular plate on the side of the pump. Allow it to bleed some fuel out. Start the tractor and let it run this way. It makes a bit of a mess, but if the tractor will now run, then the check valve fitting in the top of the pump is probably restricted.

Dont think you have to worry about the flex rings on a One Ninety, got a fuel restriction somewhere

Don't know why you'd say that. They got em and they are all old or already replaced. Tank problems are a thing too on 190's.

As Lynn stated, loosening the timing window screws and letting the return fuel just flow out the side will be the test to make sure it's a return circuit restriction, and not a supply restriction. I too wonder what Doug knows about 190's that I don't. DM pumps don't have flex rings, but didn't come on tractors until the 7000 series. Even an 81 185, or even the last 6070 built would have a flex ring originally. Many shops like me upgrade the pump at rebuild to eliminate the failure prone flex ring, which has gotten an even shorter life due to modern fuel.
