i dont know about B&D and their warranty... but son had a Milwaukee drill that died.. I went on line and it asked for a serial number, which confirmed the manuf date and they said send it in and they fixed it.. I had no papers and no purchase date...

GOOGLE...

A Black and Decker reciprocating saw typically has a two-year limited warranty against defects in material or workmanship for home use, which is void if the product is used for commercial, professional, or hire purposes, or if it is misused, neglected, or damaged. To make a claim, you can either return the product to the retailer within their return period or send it to an authorized Black and Decker service center, providing proof of purchase for either method.
