I recently purchased a 706b forklift. It runs and has enough power but it has so much blowby it pushing oil out the dipstick tube. Its my understanding the later models had a 433 allis engine. Mine has a perkins. My question is if a 433 could be transplanted into it and what it would entail
Thanks in advance

I just bought a 706B that was repowered from the Perkins gas to a 4bt Cummins, I would have preferred the 433T but the price was right and it was close by.
Doesn't look like it was a lot of work, but be careful you get the engine mounts exact, because whoever did this conversion didn't have it exact and it broke every engine mount in the frame

Thanks for the reply. Im mostly concerned about the adapter plate for the bell housing. I think i can get by with this engine. Its git a skip on one cylinder and it will fire on that cylinder every once in a while. The cause is an injector leaking compression. I didnt catch the sound of the injector because the exhaust manifold is broke. When i fix the injector i think it will run fine. I slowed down the oil blowing out with some lucas oil stabilizer

the tranny/torque converter looks like it bolted right to the engine, and I am assuming because Perkins, Allis, and Cummins have a ASAE standard bolt pattern, but I don't know about the actual converter bolting to the flywheel, I cant see that part.

Perkins parts are pretty easily obtained, might just be simpler and cheaper to just fix it, the job they did on mine isn't real clean, so we are in the process of finishing it right.

I have a 706 with a diesel engine out of an 800 Ford. I believe it came out with the gas version of that engine.
