I have to remove the radiator from my 7040 for repair and was wondering which brand/type of coolant you recommend as a replacement for the old green that's in there now. It does not have a coolant filter.

I run heavy duty diesel coolant that has the additive that prevents liner pitting. Its called something like sca. Cant remember the exact name of the additive

I use JD cool guard simply because it's the closest to me. It's pre-mixed and makes it simple to use. Not cheap, but what is anymore.

whatever you get needs to be heavy duty wiht additives to prevent cavitation. The JD coolant is good. Case IH also has coolant the Dr Allis recommends

Drain and flush the green out including the heater hoses and put the red "diesel " antifreeze in. The 2 don't play well together.
