I need to definitely get a new worklight!!! My 58 year old eyes need both my glasses and a good source of light when working on our equipment. I still have that damn out school trouble light and trying to get it positioned right is a constant and irritating battle. What is your go to work light that you can place properly to work on your projects? At my age I want to enjoy my projects without it being a struggle. Ryan

Hey Ryan,,I Have the same issues on needing some light, especially with close work. I got one of the round aluminum flood type lights except exchanged the bulb for a soft bulb that doesn't create heat,,,It also has an ON/OFF switch close to the light. works many Wonderfuls,,,

I use a Light N Carry model LNC1541 led light, it is rechargeable, 2 brightness settings and has a magnet on 1 end that swivels on the frame handle or you can use the enclosed hook. My oldest one is going on 5 years, I added another a couple years ago incase they become discontinued or falsely improved like most everything else. Mine gets used in the shop when working on projects, in the field doing repairs and in the tractor when I'm planting to check planter after dark. Yes they are pricey but very reliable and fit easily in the back pocket or stick to the side of the toolbox. They must be somewhat waterproof as I have dropped mine in the oil bucket more than I'd like to admit. You can get them at Napa and they put them on sale when they have their tool sale in the fall.

I picked up a goose-necked LED desk lamp at the HH re-store for $5. Then I epoxied the magnet offa a HF parts tray to the base of the lamp. Works great...
Aint too much different than this one... |

I have been using a "headlight" recently. I really like it. With that said, I still use a drop light, too, but the headlight looks at the same place I am.
My daughters (all adults in their 40's now) all tease me about me holding the light for me when they were kids. I remember saying "I hope you can see, because I can't"!

I have a double Led on a stand that I carry to the racetrack or often setup in the shop.
I also have a rechargeable headlamp that goes on the bil of my hat. Jenny got me a very nice headlamp that I keep in the gun room at home and she got me a magnifying glass with an LED light for around the house |

That thing is called a "trouble light".....for a reason! Yes when instructing help you have to make it clear that they are to hold light so you can see what you are working on not neccessarily them. They may see it fine but are blinding you!
