My neighbor made a 2-row planter from old spare Allis planter units. He made it to be a no-till planter. My issue is, that one of the press wheels came off, and because of this and the fact that it was not for no-till, I purchased some center rib, no till replacement rubber tires. I had called a local ag equipment dealer and they said they could mount the new rubber. When they saw what I had, they said they couldn't do it because the wheels are one piece. I'm looking for advice on where or how to get these mounted, otherwise the planter is useless. Any help would be appreciated. I'm near Columbus, Ohio.
Thanks

I too, am thinking that we need some pictures. If you have what I think that you might have, the tires will go on, but may be required to do so by someone familiar with allis. Darrel

My father actually bought one of the first AC No-Til planters in our area back in the early '70s. As a cost saving attempt it was delivered to our farm unassembled. I believe he mounted those rubber tires using nothing more than dishwashing liquid and tire irons. I was only about 10 at the time. I think I still have the delivery invoice in my collection. Ryan

Have put a lot of them on. Planters came came unassembled and no tires on wheel. Use rubber lube and tire irons. Will slide over easy. MACK

And somewhat on topic,we used the heck out of that planter doing custom planting for all the area farmers that ran different color equipment and had nothing to compare to it!!! I remember my mother being pissed when dad bought it but it paid for itself real quickly!! Ryan

I've put a few of them on. I held the rim down by putting about a 10 foot long steel pipe in the center of the rim, facing straight up and putting a loader bucket down on the pipe. Then lots of lube, and some tire irons that I made myself. Tighter than a gnats ass stretched over a rain barrel, but they go on! Darrel
