Hey Where do I get parts for my G? I mean what "color" dealer carries allis chalmers?
I need to rebuild the hydraulic lift cylinder on one of my G's... Also at some point I want to freshen the brakes and clutches on both G's
Thanks
Jonathan

Agco.
Baum Hydraulics www.baumhydraulics.com carries a large variety of cylinder seals and may have them for the G. Gerald J. |

Jonathan,
I might be able to help you out with the brake pieces. The G I am parting out has practially new brakes on it and everything looks to be in good shape. Let me check into them if you want and I will get back with you if you are interested.

Try some of the vendors here on this site. I know OKtractor might have some as well as Tony Carbaugh, and maybe a few others. AGCO, like everything else, most likely has them over-priced.

If the G cylinders are like the B's and C's, there is nothing but a bronze sleeve and a chevron packing inside the gland. There is no piston or rings. Chevron packings and bronze bushings are available from Motion Industries and hydraulic supply places. Here is a website listing chevron packings. http://www.alleghenyyork.com/vee.asp

TTT getting ready to ship my second G to Oregon, I'm sending the one with hydraulics, and I just took the lift cylinder off, and I'm about to take her apart... :)
Which set of threads should I unscrew? There is the sleeve right by the end that the ram comes out of (female threads), then there is the "tube" (male at both ends) then there is the base "sleeve" with female threads that the hose screws into...
Thanks!

The sleeve that the ram comes out of has to come apart to get at the packing. The packing gland has to come off to remove the rod from the gland because there is a snap ring on the bottom of the rod.
