Has anyone ever put a deluxe seat on a series 1 D10-12? Did you move battery to same location as the series II and III? Anyone ever raise the height of the steering wheel? Thanks Tracy

Tracy,
Looking at my parts manuals.
First everything refers to before serial # or after #, instead of D-II or D-III.
The battery box for before and after is different #. The covers are the same.
I can make you a new battery box for the after, series II and III.

I've never considered changing the hight of the steering wheel. I'll have to look at my
D-10 series III, to see if I think it would be practical.

Dusty, I like the little tractors, but my knees are at the steering wheel. It makes shifting gears cumbersome. On my series three with deluxe seat, you can shift it further back because battery is not in way. I thought of making a steering wheel riser of about 2-3 inches, that would help also. Just wondering how many out there feel crowed on that little operator's platform? Thanks Tracy

Just use a "deep Dish" steering wheel from something like an I-40 or 190 ect. That what I did on my D10 puller.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

The deluxe seat fits on the seat frame that was used on D10's serial number 2266 and up and on D12's serial numbers 2241 and up.  To install the deluxe seat, you would need the later seat frame and would also have to change the battery/seat deck plate as well as moving the battery box.

I have a series I steering box with the longer shaft, I need a series III box.  I thought about making it work but I want to keep mine original.  Side plates and throttle linkage is different but it will bolt up.
The universal answer to all questions is yes, how much do you want to spend?

Larry, I looked at that as well. I have several seat frames that are good condition. I haven't looked at deck plates close, but at a glance, other than some hyd plumbing needed to move. I figured someone has already done this to have more room. Thanks Tracy

Dusty, I think one off a I40, or an I400 will work. It is dished. I don't know the diameter of one. Without power steering, one much smaller than original would work you over pretty good. Thanks Tracy
