I have a WD45 wide front and I’m trying to clean front bolster out due to all the gunk. How do I remove the worm gear? And top bearing? Thanks

I think vertical shaft has to come out first, then remove two bolts on bearing cap and remove.          MACK

Do you have to press the vertical pin out? Mine is very tight. Wanting to make sure I’m not tearing something up getting it apart. Thanks

Take bolt and setscrew out of bottom and shaft and gear comes out the top.      MACK

After you separate the steering shaft, remove the two bolts on the rear of the bolster, you can then rotate the shaft out of the bolster. The rest of the gears and bearings will come out the bottom. All the bolts top and bottom need to come out.
