Well,,,in this country,,you just cannot turn down any rain,,,else the townspeople is gonna be chunkin rocks and chit at your cars and dogs,,,,,,,,,,WinkWink
Anyway,,,last Thursday night,,,we had a good old fashioned Gully Washer come thru bout 3 Am and left us a really nice 7 tenths of slow soakin rain,,,,Clap Boy,,it was a good ole Free for All with them rocks and Goat Heads all just slurpin thet rain up,,,,Clap
The constant Thunder woke me up bout 3Am and was like a 4TH of July light show out there,,,,We lost power right after I woke up and I had no problems findin some candles as the Lightning was almost a constant going on,,,!! Whew,,,what a show,,,,,
Well,, the good guys from the Co-op finally got the power back up bout 6 Am but I had no internet service so I call the after hours techs and after bout a 30 minute check out the tech tells me the router is Kapoot. I tried the manual reset and a hard reset, but ikt will no reset for chit
It is a Netgear R6200 at 850 MBPS , so it not a super high speed like the ones available these days.
Anybody got pros / cons on Netgear or the Linksys routers?

Joe, I can't help ye with the routers, but I sure as 'ell would love to send all the rest of the rains to you instead of them running over us up here... and of course, all the dam snow that will come later too... Oh yea, ye had a taste of goliath a while back.
mmm shoulda contacted the weather maker to send the rains your way and give ol' Joe a lush green desert that looked like a garden of Eden... Ermm      goatheads snakes and all LOL

Joe did you get any rain late Saturday afternoon? Tv here in Midland said heavy storm moving north of Jal, thru Eunice. We didn't get a drop here in the city of Midland. My lawn is a crusty brown.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Yep, we had that pretty show happen up here too.  Came in late Wednesday and all morning Thursday.  We can't get ANYTHING done around here, it's SO wet.  If anybody wants to bet me, I KNOW when it's going to stop raining.  I don't know the date, but it's just going to change over to snow.....

Hey Lars,,,,Yeah,,we sure did,,,,that was that .7 I posted bout but the real biggie was the lightning,,,,,Dang,,but was it Brutal here for bout an hour,,not much thunder but lots of just continous lightening,,!! WE lost power for several hours and the dang lightning took out my router as well,,,,, I'm fi'dn to call my ISP first thing  as a couple of months ago,,they decided I was ready for an internet "UPGRADE",,so they installed fiber internet to give me HIGH speed service,,,but Chit,,I was already bringin em in at 50 MBPS,,,I mean just how much download speed does a simple ole Shade tree really need,,,I mean most people never seen 10 MBPS,,,, When I asked the techies doin the installation. how fast would this make my system,,,they just grinned at themselves and says,,,,,this is in the hundreds, man,,!!
Anyways, I;m thinkin the fiber internet must be more susseptible to lightning cause even now my PC been doing some strange things on it's own,,,,,,since the lightening the other night,,,,,??
