I recently purchased a 53 Allis IB with a Henry loader and Carco model C winch. Both accessories are quality manufactured and installed. Does anyone out there know the history of these tractors and why they would have a winch installed? Thanks

many were setup with a drawbar or pin hitch and used in factories as a MULE to drag wagons of parts from station to station ( remember, this was 1950 ) ........... the IB I had was sold to the rail road with a side sickle to mow ditch banks and along the tracks . Mower was gone when I got it. I have not seen one with a winch.

Maybe the winch was to pull train cars. Could multiply the pulling power with pulleys.
