When you guys refer to the thrust bearing being beefed up in the later models are you talking about the number four main crank shaft bearing and thrust washer combo? I am doing and in frame overhaul using a Reliance kit recommended by my AGCO dealer. The number four main and thrust bearing that is in the kit does not look to be the same as what I removed it has a lot less surface area for the side to side thrust part of it. When I ordered the kit I told them I had the later engine and gave them the serial number which they said didn't mean anything to them. I can't find anything on the AGCO parts book that helps me out. If any body can explain this to me I would be most grateful.

Don't know the particulars but yes. What has been said here before is that the latest ones had a larger surface area thrust brg.Sounds like that's what yours is.Sounds like what you got is the earlier style.

Take your bearings ( old ones also ) along back to where you bought them .Have them check sizes. Then have them look them back up under reliance . Reliance is not the problem.

I thought awhile back I read on here that when you order from agco you get the updated version and whenever you order aftermarket company's they come in the old style. I know this sounds crazy but when I ordered for my 6080 and mine is the old style, I got agco bearings and they came in the updated style. Then I came on here and was told that and ordered from aftermarket and sure enough it was the old style. Try it from agco
Like I said sounds crazy,
