Lucky he doesn't live in Minnesota. If you shoot an intruder as he turns his back to you then you are in trouble. In such case you cannot take physical action. In fact in Minnesota, if you pursue him and hurt the villain you probably will go to jail. You cannot even shoot into the air or into the ground to scare them off and if you brandish a weapon by just flashing a holstered gun at a would be assailant in Minnesota you could be considered the bad guy.

I had the same thoughts Lonn, especially the older guy recently that was repeatedly victimized by the same crooks.
