How's the boy doing?  I hadn't seen anymore posts since your last one and was thinking about him.   Or maybe I missed a post?

He's coming along OK. We were first told that they got 100% of it....actually, I suspect that boy and his wife misunderstood. In any case, they did get most of it but there was some that they could not take out due to its location. Fortunately, it is a non aggressive type 2 tumor, and a month after surgery, it has not grown. they are now doing genome testing to decide what treatment will be needed for follow-up. probably radiation, but chemo is still on the table. his head has healed fine. We do notice a little short term memory loss, he repeats himself some. he is going crazy, wants to back to work. Docs have released him for light duty, but his employer wont OK his return until docs give him a full release, shouldn't be too much longer. he cannot drive yet, probably not until next March, but he can get a ride to/from work.
Over all we couldn't ask for much better, given the circumstances
Thanks for asking

OH, and something else that got twisted in the translation, Jim thought they said he had a titanium plate in his head now, but in fact what he has is star shaped titanium pins to hold the skull together while it heals. I wish the medical team would have included me or someone else in the briefings, but HEPA laws are what they are. there are ways around it, but there just was no time

Good to hear he is moving ahead for a complete success.  When I got my diagnosis the dr. wanted me to do chemo and rad before the surgery, I refused and they got it all so I didn't need it.  There is a relatively new treatment called immunotherapy he might inquire about.  Major less side effects!

When I went in they gave me a form and I put my wife, son, brother and sister  My brother got all of the info and when I was back to normal, told me what was said.  It was a huge help.  Jim can still fill out the form when he goes in for a follow up and take you along if he wants.

Anyway, great news and keep up the good work Jim!

Thanks for the follow up Lou.

actually John, now that you mention it, I believe Immunotherapy was on the table too.

It sounded like the best option to me.  One drawback, I was talking to the ladies at the township hall and mentioned it.  The secretary said her mother is on it, and she has to do it for the rest of her life.  I don't know what problem she has , and if that is the norm for the treatment.
