was wondering if there is an simpler way to pull the radiator out a d17 with a henry loader on it? my thought was cutting the spot welds in the top of the grill shell by were the headlights would normaly be and taking the top of the grill shell and pulling the radiator straight up and out? I currently dont have a grill on the front(came that way. have a grill, but no sense putting it on till I get it useable). once I replace the radiator I would just bolt the top of the grill shell on in case I need in there in the future. thanks dt.

I'd just take the loader off.

buy another D17 ??? OK I'm kinda kidding...though I've got 3 D-14s here....
Why can't you just unbolt the rad shroud and lift it and rad out straight up ? The loader can't be in the way.....probably a 2 man job, standing on D-17 and getting round fan but in my mind it sounds do-able... Jay |

the grill shell is between the loader frame and the frame of the tractor, with the bolts going through all the above. so I would have to unbolt the loader frame.

hmm yeah, same as my D14, NOW that you mention it...arrgh..
OK, next idea... carefully support the frame from underneath, then remove bolts from one side, then the other. you 'should' be able to remove rad shell. maybe raise it up to clear the loader frame, then put bolts back in. Jay |
