where's a good supplier to get transmission gears for an early 1961 D15 tractor. I plan on restoring mine and need to go through the whole tractor from front to back with the restoration.

Chris

The good news about the early D Series transmission gears is they are practically all the same.

Ie CA, D-10, D-12, D-14, D-15, also some in D-272 and ED-40

Some of the gears are different but can used it the mating gear is replaced with it. You would have to know the serial number breaks. Check the parts book.

AGCO still supply's gears but are very pricey. A & I may sell a few as well. Just remember that all the gears from the CA-D-15 are interchangeable, just be careful as the gears had rev changes and must be changed in pairs or sets.
Thanks & God Bless

Early CA gears may not be interchangeable with the later. Parts book shows a change from CA 13291

I repaired my transmission 1960 D15 and didn't buy anything in fact if you buy the gears and reassemble like it was from factory it will for sure do the same thing it did from the factory you have to fill and recut the detents so it shifts all the way into gear in every case I have seen 1/3 of the drive cog is being used if you polish it up and make it shift the other 2/3 of cog left will last longer then new parts. Also build up and re file shift forks to match the collars again and make sure it moves reverse gear out enough that third gear no longer rides on it when engaged. This job is not for the easily intimidated but with or without parts you need to follow all these steps or they will do the same thing again Dr Allis has a good post about it on here.
