As stated in one of my first posts I am in line to inherit 2 Allis-Chalmers my dad had. In order to be "fair" to my sibling I need to know an approximate value for the tractors so they can get their "share" of something else of my parents.
The D14 I am guessing to be a late '50s with the black grill. Has a shuttle clutch with a Henry industrial loader. No rear lift or PTO. Front tires have custom made heavy duty rims and rear tires are fair, decent tread but some weather checking. Transmission was went through a number of years ago because it would pop out of gear. Engine runs OK most of the time except a bad miss when under heavy load. Sheet metal is original with some scuffs from use.
D15 is a looks to be an early '60s with a white grill but not a series II. Has the high/low shifter that will pop out of gear until warmed up. Has PTO and 2/3 point lift (don't know the exact term) that is hooked to a Woods belt driven mower. Front tires are in good shape, rear has decent tread but chunks of the lugs are starting to peel off. Engine runs good. Older, poor restoration (bad over spray) that was done before my dad bought it but sheet metal is in good shape.
Any ballpark ideas to establish a value? Located in north central Iowa if that make a difference.

Something like 3000-4000 for the two of them would be an OK price. The pricing is the easy part, dealing with the relatives will be the challenge.
If possible, get them to do some research too. That way they know your offer isn't a low ball one but FAIR to everyone.
Good news is you know the tractors.

Any chance you could post serial numbers? Could help narrow things down a bit. They should be stamped into the right side cast iron torque tube just behind the motor.

I'm wondering if the D14 is actually a tractor that would have been sent to Henry to be made into a backhoe. The bareback keys me in on that. If that is the case the front rims might be "factory " actually

The rears are loaded no doubt and I'm thinking all four would need replaced, probably $700 a pair for new beings they are 26" or should be. You could put 28" on but they are getting hard to find used, so you are lookinh at close to the same price, but you would also need to buy tires. I suspect the problem with the chunks out of the rears on the one tractor is due to tire chains. In any case, if they run, I would think $3 to $4K for both tractors would be fair.

I got a D15 a couple years ago runs great.power steering,good tires,gears and high/low
works like it should,very little paint on it.Figure I have about $1800 in it.

gee $350 a rear tire,seems cheap, up here closer to 500, plus new tube of course !

My dad bought the tractor from the local sugar beet factory in the late '60s who bought it new so I know it never had a back hoe. I remember my dad getting the rims custom made as he would crack the bolt holes in the standard rims. I will try to find the serial numbers next time I am out to the farm.
I forgot to mention, if it makes any difference, both tractors have power steering. |

Replaced tires on my D14 & D15 last year with Firestone 14.9 x 26 for $1400 per set.

Replaced D15 tires with old combine tires, $100 for the pair 5 years ago. Not the rims too, just the tires.

couple of things...
I'm still running on a pair of combine rims/tires from a fall fair combine derby. Not new but for $100 the work fine for me...
I passed buying #5 last night. Good running D-14, loader(trip bucket),new rears,nonPS. The $1800 wasn't the deal breaker, it was NO HYDRAULICS or brakes. Owner had loader starpped up as well as a bush hog. Only cuts grass with it. Didn't want to 'roll the dice' , rebuilt pump is a LOT of Canucks and I already hve 2 D-14s without brakes.
OK I have NO idea HOW i got slanted letters or HOW to get rid of them...arrgh...

Thanks for the info on the tires. I will take a closer look and if they are completely shot may have to factor the cost of new/used tires in the overall value.

Engine and Tractor Serial numbers are on the Left Hand side of the tractor when facing the normal direction of travel.
