WORKING ON A 200 AC, SER NU ABOVE 4000. CUSTOMER COMPLAINED OF SLIPPAGE. FIRST TEST REVELED LOW PRESSURE AT THE POWER DIRECTOR VALVE. APPEARED TO BE DUE TO LOST MOVEMENT IN LINKAGE. REPAIRED ALL LINKAGE INCLUDING THE NOTCH PLATE ON THE CONSOLE. WITH ALL LOST MOTION REMOVED AND VALVE ADJUSTED AT 1.5" PRESSURE CAME UP BUT NOT ENOUGH AND STILL SLIPS ON HIGH SIDE. CHECKED PRIMARY OUTPUT AT PUMP, READING WAS APPROX 450 psi AND UPPED TO 1900psi WITH STEERING ON LOCK. LOW SIDE OF PD WAS AT 250psi AND ON THE HIGH SIDE IT IS AT 175 psi., SHOULD BE IN THE 255 TO 280 psi RANGE WITH DIFFERENCE NO MORE THAN 10psi. WHAT COULD CAUSE THE LOW PRESSURE AND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIGH AND LOW? THEY SOULD BE ABOUT THE SAME. TRACTOR WAS RUN WITH CLUTCH SLIPPING FOR A WHILE, BUT THAT WOULD WEAR CLUTCHS NOT EFFECT PRESSURE. I AM WONDERING IF THE 3 METAL RINGS, WHERE THE CLUTCH MOUNTS ON TRANSMISSION SHAFT ARE WORN OUT OR IF AN O-RING IN THE CLUTCH PACK IS FAILING.  DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS?

IMO if it has been slipping awhile it's going to have to come apart. I'd guess it has a seal problem at the clutch but I am no expert having only worked on a couple 200 clutches in my life and that's been 25 years ago. I bought my late model 200 a year ago and it slipped on the high side and needed rebuild but I sent the tractor out to be repaired.

Broken plates in hl side would be my first guess. Happens when reduction gear on torque tube shaft gets loose on shaft and sets up a vibration. MACK
