help !, please..
I need to know the part number for the wheel cylinder for an FPD50-24-2PS forklift.
I also now need two hernias repaired..man them tires/rims/drums are HEAVY !!
OH yeah it was the OTHER side that was bad, ugh...

NAPA up here, least the local one ,charges MORE than the local farm dealer !!! Found an 'industrial' dealer in Hamilton that will rebuild the wheel cylinder and reline the shoes.... OK, here's my antiHERNIA device I came up with....if you insert a 2by4 between top of tire and C-frame the tire is level.Wish I had rollers on the bottom,but it works !!

UPDATE: OK, got shoes relined and wheel cylinder rebuilt for 150 Canucks ! Great deal in my book.
It was actually 'fun' sliding the wheel/rim/drum back on using the lift. Though I ran into a couple snags...
1. The brake adjuster consists of 2 metal bars with a 1/4-28 bolt to adjust them.Arrgh, you have to guess,tighten, test and then try again. Once I figured out how to read the tape measure it was easier ( 3rd try....)
2nd snaffu....bleeding the brakes. Still not done. My arm needs to be 8" longer and have 3 more bends in it AND eyeballs on the end! 6" of ground clearance ain't a lot of 'wiggle' room. If I could jack the front end up at least a foot,it'd almost be manageable. A pit would be ideal( and a helper).. oh well, we'll sleep on it for tonight.
At least she starts,runs and OUT of the garage !!

Different vehicle similar measurement problem. Might apply to yours.
Son is having hand brake problems with a Oz Ford Falcon where the hand brake shoes work on a drum in the disc. You have to adjust the shoe diameter to Ford's dimension before replacing the disc - seems no external access. Internet site comments mention trial and error or a large set of calipers - seems the axle is in the way of tape measures.
My suggestion is to get a set of those sliding bar clamps and thread a locking screw into the floating side to make a large set of calipers. Then set to measurement and adjust shoes to suit. Untried as yet.
Could be "theoretically sound but practically imperfect" too

I saw the forklift mechanic jack our shops lift up .He tilted the the boom as far back as it would go ,then placed blocking under base of boom ! Then tilted boom forward as far as he needed .
