What do you guys use for V-belts? I need a new one for my B... My experience with the TSC ones didn't impress me much, they seemed to die FAST, really fast.

So I am wondering what you guys use?

Thanks,
Ben

I've always got mine from Napa and never had a bad one.  They seem to last a long time.

I get them at O'reilly. It's about the only place around that has somebody that knows how to measure belts

Is everything properly lined up ? even a 1/16 out of whack will force a good belt to wear out real fast.
pulleys running 'true'? no weeble-wobble  allowed !!

kevlar reinforced belts are much better than 'dime store' V belts...

If I know the measurement, I use Surpluscenter.com.  A $40(dealer) B-88 like my Dixie Chopper uses is $10 at SC.com.  No matter what belt I put on it, dealer, or cheap, it eats up about 4 a season, sometimes less...  SC.com also knows how to ship, I buy belts, when I order something else, they use the belts, as packing, in the same box...

Looks like I will try a NAPA belt.....  Thanks guys!

@ jaybmiller - There isn't any very noticeable wobble, but good point... I will look at it very closely and see what I find out. Big smile

I have used both NAPA and belts from O'Reilly's. Prefer the NAPA also.

I use Gates. I've had a Gates green stripe on my B for at least 10 years now. Napa's belts are made by Gates, so you shouldn't have any problems unless you have a pulley misaligned or another issue going on..  HTH

I get my belts from the JD dealer they stock mostly gates belts except for the JD belts for the garden tractors. For my simplicity I go to the simplicity dealer. There belts are based on 1/2" measurements so a standard 1" sized belt won't work for long.
