Anyone know where I can pick up a manual for a 2 bottom rollover plow? Been told it might be a Model 54.

does not have anything on the 50 family roll over plows. The plow frames book section 3 and the plow bottoms book referenced over in AC Plows 101 in the Knowledge forum on this site don't cover the 50.

In typical model numbering a 54 would be a 4 bottom conventional plow, but from the 50 era that's more plow than the WD would pull. There is a manual for 52 and 53 straight plows intended for WD use on grandpastractor link above.

As I pointed out in AC Plows 101, the characteristic identifying a 50 family plow frame is that the plow shanks are vertical, not angled like the 60, 70, and 80. The 60, 70, and 80 plow families were contemporaries, the 60 had slightly fewer features than the 70 which had fewer features than the 80.

A google search which I haven't tried today might turn up a manual. My epay search got 374 hits and I only looked at the first 100 listed, didn't see a 50 turn over manual.

my search string was Allis plow manual.

I think the plow manual will have a paragraph on adjusting the coulters. I just looked at a manual for WD52 or WD53 pickup plows that I down loaded from granpas tractor some time ago and it has about half a page on adjusting coulters.

Based on the parts books referenced above (and I have in print form) the coulters are nearly universal few coulters made to fit nearly every plow frame. The mounts clamp to the frame bars and the shanks clamp to the mounts. Landsides are other universal parts.

I believe (but can't prove it) that when buying an AC plow that there were four items ordered. First the plow frame, then the hitch, then the bottoms, and finally the coulters. There wasn't a standard one line plow order.

60 plow frames only assembled in one width, 70 and 80 could be assembled in a couple different widths. There were fewer bolts in the 60 assembly and a little less steel weight. 80 came with spring trip shanks. 60 and 70 with shear bolt mounted shanks. In the plow bottoms parts book there is a kit for adding spring trip shanks to 60 and 70 plow frames. Every AC plow bottom in my plow bottoms book fits every one of the plow frames, using the same two 9/16" mounting bolts that also hold the landsides.

Ok. So I wouldn't need AC coulters to put on it. That's good to know. Thank you!

Well if the coulters are as adjustable with clamp mounts as AC coulters were then any brand might work or might work by building clamps to hold the shanks if they have the same style of round shanks. Take a look in the plow bottoms book referenced above for how they were assembled.
