I want to put new 12.4-24 tires on my CA restoration. Any suggestions for an unusual tire pattern? I can't find much in that size online. Miller only 2 options.

I'd sure like to see 13.6 tires on a CA. Any pics? Is this okay to do? I thought 12.4 was as big as I could go on a 10 inch rim.

I like to see big tires. The Firestone field and road are on a lot of tractors. Not a unusual tread design.
You need to get into tractor pulling. How close are you to the Florida Flywheelers club? Regards, Chris |

Chris,
FF is south of me a bit. They are having a show next weekend I plan on attending. The Firestone Road and Field is not available in the 12.4 size. I'll keep looking. Steve |

Steve,
At the FF show ask around a little and see if any of the folks are from north west Pennsylvania? Maybe members of the Pioneer Steam and Gas Engine show in Sagerstown PA. I may know a few of the snow birds! Hope you have a good time Are you taking tractors to show? I just passed up a CA that had the Firestones on it. Cant remember the size? Maybe bigger? Bigger would be good if they would work on your rims. Regards, Chris |

I have a set of Titan 8 ply 14.9 X 24 turf tires at 95%plus on real good spinouts for sale. They really looked tough on one of my CA's but I switched to R1's because I wanted to plow with it.

Hubnut--please do not put Firestone Field and Road tires in your CA. You will be disappointed, if you can find them. On the other hand Firestone Traction Field and Road would make you a great set of tires. The difference between the two tires is like day and night. Thanks Tom.

Hubnut,
There are two 98% tread Firestone Field and Road 12.4 x 24 tires on the parts section on the Yesterday tractor site in Ohio. Maybe that's what you are looking for.

How about 18.4X28s? For general work the standard size 11.2X24 works well. There are some things that the bigger tires make the ground speeds a bit too fast for. For the standard rims anything much over a 12.4 tire will be pulled in more that it should be. Although many D10 & D12 with 14.9x24 tires on the 10" rim. |

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Nice guys. Love the BIG tires! I bought Galaxy 12.4x24 R1 tires today. Had the sandblasting done then shot the paint on the rims. Hope to get them tomorrow or Wed. I'll put up some pics.

Not trying to pry but would you tell me what the tires run now? Unless you didn't notice (I don't know how you wouldn't) I might be in need soon.

I don't mind at all. The Firestone's were $330 each. The Galaxy's were $280 each.
