It's in okay shape. The guy that owns it is rather nice. If you bid you won't be bidding against me anymore :)

Nice tractor, $14,000 with 15 minutes to go on the auction. Wonder if it will jump in the last few seconds?

Still 14,000 with 3 minutes to go. Only run 38 hr since last year, according to the oil filters.
Final price, $14,000, stayed in MN. A good deal, but not a great one. Edited by JohnCO - 21 Sep 2016 at 11:13am |

When we looked at it the owner wanted at least $30000. |

I think all Big Iron auctions are no reserve auction. That's what our local rep told me.

For one thing, it is a front wheel drive, and it is getting very hard to find parts for these tractors. I was looking for a 8050/70 this pass spring, and my Allis dealer advise me to stay away from any 8000 series with front wheel assist.

think we're gonna see a lot more cheaper priced equipment this fall/winter. and I usually see 100's of new combines going thru our town every year. so far....I've seen 3 for all year.
and I do believe that towards spring time, we'll see a raise in prices on used tractors and equipment, most won't sell because of the grain prices right now. but some will hafta buy if they wanna keep going. most don't want all that computerization on their machines either! only way is to sit back and watch! and some prices won't be affected in all parts of the country. nor will they be effected on export equipment.

Big Iron is advertised as no reserve, but I can assure that not everything sells, so there could have been a buyback.

If a buddy bought it back, the auction house still wins their 10%. Expensive way to find the value of a machine.

That's what the local rep told me too. They try as much as possible to make sure people or buddies aren't bidding on their own stuff

I have seen items for sale in the big iron for sale lists at the bottom of their page that supposedly had sold on the auction. and have also seen items being sold several months later that supposedly had sold earlier, also offered by same seller and address! you spose they were caught and therefore had to resale at another 10% again commission? or maybe big iron confisticated the items and then listed them for sale on their own web site? I was always gonna ask the reps about that, but never have yet.

I liked big iron auctions until they changed their web page, now it's harder to move arund in the site, and I've talked to some, big iron is losing business because of that! I've bought a lot of stuff off their auctions, but now seldom go in there anymore.

I agree Dale, the new improved site is a pain to use and I'm not checking it out as often. Really don't need anything anyway. I'm wondering if they got hacked or something so have made if harder to access.

no....John....the problem they were having was the people couldn't get their computers refreshed fast enough to bid again, and when it was down to the wire a lot of people missed out on a winning bid! so they had to change something. they did it wrong in my opinion (and others)!
