I have a 1939 allis Chalmers model B. The tractor was sitting in a pasture and and animals have ripped off the spark plug wires from the distributer. Now how the heck do I figure out which port each wire should be connected to? I am not sure what to do. thanks.

Pull out the front spark plug and crank the engine until the piston is all the way up in the cylinder on compression stroke. Then pull the cap off of the mag and the tab will be pointing to where the #1 plug wire needs to go, then go clockwise around the mag cap #1, #2, #4 and #3 cylinders.
